About
the practitioner:
Stacey McCarthy is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s Degree in
Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (2002). She also has a
background in massage therapy, and ten years’ experience treating stress and
musculoskeletal issues. Stacey integrates knowledge of Chinese and Western
herbal therapies, bodywork and acupuncture, as well as referrals to other
practitioners for specialized or additional care, if needed.
Special emphasis: True to the philosophies of Chinese Medicine, Stacey offers a general practice focusing on a holistic, mind-body-spirit approach, integrating lifestyle changes and addressing disharmonies that arise from emotional factors, because the emotional state is where many disease processes originate. Anxiety, depression and irritability frequently manifest as physical symptoms, such as fatigue, headaches, musculoskeletal pain and gastrointestinal disorders. Using acupuncture to reduce stress, strengthen the immune system, and ease pain, plus herbal supplements and suggested lifestyle changes, Stacey focuses on helping clients restore their lives to a balanced, satisfying and healthful state. What to expect: An initial session can take between 1 and 2 hours. This includes an in-depth exploration of your primary health concerns, medical history, physical and emotional health, habits and overall lifestyle. A typical treatment session can take from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
